Our NHS services are under significant pressure...
Patient Safety Partners
NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough is encouraging local people to apply to join our patient safety partners; an important role without set time commitments which will allow you to make a positive impact for our local communities.
The Patient Safety Partner’s role helps our teams to listen to and work with our local patients, carers, and families, to improve patient safety across Cambridgeshire & Peterborough. The patient safety partner will actively work with our staff to design safer healthcare throughout our area, to gather insights from local people and communities and challenge us to ensure we learn and change how we work to improve the health and wellbeing of our local people.
One Patient Safety Partner in post said: “As a PSP I have felt respected and listened to. Being able to highlight the perspective of patients, that patient voice is important to me and what brought me to the role and I have been able to do this. It has been a very interesting and welcoming role.”
A previous Patient Safety Partner added: “As a Patient Safety Partner (PSP), I had had the privilege of serving as an advisor to support the delivery of safe healthcare across Integrated Care System. My involvement in this role was varied depending on my skills and experience, allowing me to contribute to enhancing patient experience and improving health outcomes.
One of the key responsibilities of a PSP is to actively participate in specific committees, groups, and boards that promote patient safety. It is crucial that the perspectives of service users, patients, carers, and families are considered”
