Local parents and carers can get their children protected against five diseases over February half-term, thanks to a series of free pop-up vaccination clinics set up by the local NHS.

Starting in Doddington and Cambridge on Monday 17 February, NHS vaccination teams will be offering catch-up vaccination sessions at six locations across Cambridgeshire and Peterborough.

Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR), HPV, diphtheria, tetanus and polio vaccinations will be available, with RSV also on offer for those who are in their 28th week or later in pregnancy.

Chief Medical Officer at NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough, Dr Fiona Head, said: “By making sure your child is up to date with their vaccinations, you can help protect them against diseases that could make them very ill and even lead to a need for hospital care.

“As long as your child meets the age eligibility then it's not too late for them to have these vaccinations. So, please check your children’s red book (if you have one) to see if they have missed any or speak to their GP practice if you’re unsure. There’s no need to book an appointment at any of the pop-up clinics - just walk in.”

Eligibility:

Each childhood vaccination has a different age group who are eligible for the vaccine; there isn’t any other requirement other than fitting into the age group.

• Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR): 1+
• Human papillomavirus (HPV): 12-24
• Diphtheria, Tetanus and Polio (5th dose): 14+
