Seeking medical treatment abroad

NHS England is responsible for administering the application process for patients seeking funding for healthcare/treatment in other countries.

When applying for funding, there are two funding routes that patients may be able to access;  they are known as the 'S2' route and the 'EU Directive' route.  NHS England is responsible for administering the application process for both.

Patients should note that NHS Cambridgeshire & Peterborough (ICB) policies relating to restrictions on which service or treatments will be funded by the NHS will also apply when accessing treatment abroad.
