Change Release Paves the Way for New Data Feeds

Key features to progress the deployment of new data feeds into the Shared Care Record have been implemented via a Change Release into INT and STAGE by Orion Health, our supplier.

A secure connection (VPN*) Gateway to allow connections to be made to the Shared Care Record:

Technical works deployed by Orion Health (OH) will allow Royal Papworth Hospital (RPH) and Cambridge and Peterborough Foundation Trust (CPFT) to connect to the Shared Care Record. This means that staff that have been allocated a user account will be able to securely and safely login and start using the system to view information already being shared.

*VPN is a Virtual Private Network

A Documents component will be enabled to allow partners to share documents in the Shared Care Record:

This will give the Shared Care Record the ability to accept Documents from existing record systems currently being used by our partners. We will be working with RPH and CPFT over the coming weeks to make sure they are able to access the Documents before a go live is confirmed.

Next Steps:

These change releases will give us the facility to make the RPH connection live and paves the way for them to start sharing data for Admissions, Discharge and Transfer (ADT) in early October, following a period of testing.

The ability to share documents from RPH and CPFT should follow the successful conclusion of this part of our deployment with RPH.
